Start with an outcome
Describe what you want to achieve and how you will recognise success. Organise longer work into projects, then use milestones to define meaningful results along the way.
For example, a Nairobi study group might work towards completing a course. A milestone could be finishing one module, with a daily commitment to explain a topic and complete its practice questions.
Give today a clear definition of done
Declare a specific outcome, why it matters, and the evidence that will demonstrate it. Keep your top three priorities clear. A commitment can relate to a milestone or stand on its own.
- Replace ‘work on my portfolio’ with ‘publish the project overview and two screenshots’.
- Choose an outcome you can reasonably complete with the time available.
- Review unfinished work before carrying it into another day.
Keep evidence close to the work
Add a written note, a relevant link, or an uploaded file to your check-in. Evidence helps your group understand the result and give a useful review. Share only what your group needs; remove other people’s private information first.
Daily evidence is due by 12:00 noon on the following day in the group’s timezone. Kaizen keeps the declaration, evidence versions and review history together.
Reflect on progress
Use the progress views to see your planning, check-ins and peer-verified execution. Look for patterns you can act on: commitments that are too large, recurring obstacles, or a routine that is working.
Some milestones can stay private to you. Shared work belongs inside the relevant accountability group. Choose the visibility that suits the work.
